What is a blank t-shirt?
When consumers visit a store or shop online they generally have two primary options in regard to purchasing t-shirts. They can buy solid color t-shirts or they can buy decorated t-shirts. When we say "decorated" we are talking about tees that are printed, embroidered, or embellished in some other manner. If the shirt is a solid color with no special printing on the outside of the garment, it can be considered a blank or solid.
In the world of novelty t-shirt design, the blank is the t-shirt, tank top, or other type of garment that is not yet decorated. This would be the shirt that is sent to a printing factory to become decorated.
Not all blank shirts are created equal. The type of blank shirt that is used for printing varies by fiber content, fabric construction, quality, color, styling, weight, etc.
Where do blank t-shirts come from?
Blank t-shirts come from a wide variety of resources. Zap Teez has the ability to purchase blanks directly from clothing factories in the United States, China, Mexico, India, and just about any other country on the planet. Our company has experience managing production from various facilities. We also have the option to purchase shirts directly from large scale distributors such as Gildan, Delta, etc.
In addition to having the ability to purchase directly from a t-shirt factory and from blank t-shirt distributors, we also allow "t-shirt printers" to purchase blank t-shirts from wholesalers on our behalf. They will negotiate the prices, manage quality assurance, and stock the inventory. This allows us to concentrate 100% on developing fantastic designs.
To make a long story short, the t-shirts that we sell come from a wide variety of resources.
We understand that some shoppers require high quality soft fabrics such as ringspun cotton t-shirts. Other consumers want to only purchase organic products. Another group may wish to go with a slightly less expensive carded cotton fabric, polyester, or blended fabric. Because we use a wide assortment of suppliers, we do our best to offer various options for consumers.
